Superintendent of Schools Dr. John Fredericksen and the Wicomico County Board of Education have announced that Tana Ellis is the new Assistant Principal of East Salisbury Elementary School, following approval of her appointment as an elementary assistant principal at Tuesday’s meeting of the Board of Education.
Ellis had been serving this school year as Dean of Students at Prince Street Elementary, where she had also served as guidance counselor for six years, said Susan Jones, Director of Elementary Education, in recommending Ellis for the appointment.
Ellis began her teaching career in Wicomico Schools in 1999, at East Salisbury Elementary, and had also served as a teacher in the Title I Elementary Summer School Program, as a site supervisor and teacher for the after-school STARS Program, and as a leader for several school clubs focused on building self-esteem and character education through sports and public speaking.
A graduate of Wicomico County Public Schools, Ellis earned a bachelor’s degree from Salisbury University and a Master’s in Guidance and Counseling from Wilmington University, and is currently a candidate in the doctoral program with Wilmington University. She holds a valid Maryland Teaching Certificate in the areas of Elementary Education Grades 1 through 6 and Middle School, Guidance Counselor, and Administrator I.

Who did she replace? Unusual a vp would move in the middle of the school year?
Sheila Cain was let go in the beginning of the year. The school had not had a VP since.

she has been very bad since she started at salisbury middle school. It took many years to get rid of her
