DNR Scales Back Boat Fee Increase

Responding to public pressure, the state is scaling back proposed increases in fees for registering boats in Maryland.

The Department of Natural Resources was seeking the blessing of lawmakers to hike two-year boat registration fees from $24 to well into the hundreds of dollars, in many cases.

But after hearing an outcry from boaters, boat dealers and marina owners, the DNR is now proposing to soften the blow.

This what they do all the time. Say there going to raise the fee to a stupid figure and then get people to stand up against the increase. Then they say never mind we will only increase it this much and people feel better about it. NOT! There fall back to a lesser increase is what they wanted all along.

The general fund keep robbing it, that's where. Register your boat to pay for someones food stamps.
