UK Doctors Call For Ban On Smoking In Cars

LONDON (AP) - The British Medical Association is calling on the government to ban smoking at all times in cars, a step that would go beyond regulations elsewhere.

In research released on Wednesday, the group that represents U.K. doctors said the confined environment in cars exposes drivers and passengers to 23 times more toxins than a smoky bar. Children are particularly vulnerable to second-hand smoke since they absorb more pollutants. Smoke can linger in cars long after cigarettes have been smoked.

Coming to a country near you! USA!
This is just not right. While I do agree about smoking with kids in the car, if there are no kids, this is just ridiculous!
But hey, we all know how we have those who will use ANY excuse to go after the smokers!
I'd like to see the cell phone ban enforced. Something already in place in this country, but what's the point. I was on Rt. 50 awhile ago, guy was in the left lane, apparently got a call, hit the brakes to slow down (with traffic around him), finally moved over to the right lane to finish his call. It was raining very hard but it didn't stop this idiot from talking on his cell phone!
Which is more dangerous, me smoking in MY vehicle (with no kids) or this idiot on the cell phone and the whole bunch out here just like him?!
