I think the government should stop protecting me from myself.

They should worry more about fat people.

the gov't wouldn't allow that to take place. they make too much money on cigarettes BECAUSE of peoples addictions.

As a former smoker, it sure would have been helpful to me if the cigarettes were not addictive. I don't look for that to happen because the tobacco companies would stand to lose too much. It is all about money in this world.

if the governement shoved the cigarette in my mouth, that would be one thing. my decision is MY decision. why is that so hard for others to understand??

Why don't they do something useful and limit GOVERNMENT

The govt. has no right to interfere in the personal lives of U.S. Citizens. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, as written in the Dec. of Ind., is one of the reasons the War for Independence was fought. Do we really have to fight it again? I hope not because it would be much worse this time. Also, there is no level at which nicotine is no longer addictive.

11:54 said it BEST. Do something useful and limit government and the actions of government.

The Government has more important things to do. MD for example, is busy preparing for a 100 person delegation to India so they can look for ways to improve the economy here. This is important than regulating nicotine content in cigarettes. Besides, there's already a plan to put more graphic warnings on the package. Once people get addicted, they'll buy cigarettes and begin to see these warnings. Why would anyone remove the one ingredient that people are addicted to and who would buy the product if it didn't satisfy the craving?

Tobacco and tobacco products are what built this country. after trying to kill tobacco sales the country is poor.

Face it. Things change. This is a new economy. Tobacco built this country but now things have evolved. As the song says, nothing ever stays the same. Its time burn the box.

I believe in LIMITED government. Smoking is my decision and is none of the government business.
