Today at 3pm on Las Vegas, perpetually ignored by the media on both the left and right presidential candidate Ron Paul will announce details of his $1 trillion proposal in government spending cuts, which will be the start of a process to balance the Federal budget in three . As Politico reports, "the Texas congressman will lay out a budget blueprint for deep and far-reaching cuts to federal spending, including the elimination of five cabinet-level departments and the drawdown of American troops fighting overseas." Amusingly, and if there is anything that will Paul brownie points with an electorate disgusted by those spreading hypocritical class warfare, "there will even be a symbolic readjustment of the president’s own salary to put it in line with the average American salary." Which will simply make it a given that every president going forward will have at least three laid off Hollywood scriptwriters preoccupied as ghost writers and writing presidential "autobiographies." For the royalties. But we digress. "The federal workforce would be reduced by 10 percent, and the president’s pay would be cut to $39,336 — a level that the Paul document notes is “approximately equal to the median personal income of the American worker.” We somehow doubt that even Paul will go as far as proposing a much needed overhaul of campaign finance, which basically forces every politician to wear sponsorship tags of all the Wall Street banks that have "gifted" a given politician and/or president in the past 5 years, but we can surely hope.

I heard in a "walkby" that the thing was great except for the hours that it was open were an issue for those who wanted a more relaxed atmosphere. It was hard to drink $35 worth tasting in the short time allowed.
I'm sure this is the design...
Can we just have the 11 pages to read for ourselves instead of having the media write about it and just tell us what it's about. REALLY???? This is what really pi$$es me off.
President pay at $39,336
Congress pay $35,336
Presidents total income $66,666
Congress total income $66,666
President and Congress total family income $70,777
Sounds great. Where is the Legislation?
There is none since they are not going to penalize themselves or their incompetance in Cuting, Capping and Balance the National Budget.
They are as bad as the Private Industry paying out these high bonuses for screwing up.
HYPOCRITS
That is real reform
Got my vote for getting rid of TSA. Total waste.
If I thought for one minute that there was any chance of that really happening, I would vote for him in a heartbeat, but it's all just a pipe dream.
Finally, Paul shows us something... Nice!

Sounds good to me. We need smaller government and less government control. This is the way it used to be in the 50's and 60's and everyone was prosperous and had jobs. Except of course the old people and the handicapped.
NAH, makes too much sense.
Practice what you preach. Go Ron Paul
Lower the pay for CONGRESS and get rid of the automatic pension for life.
There's a WHOLE BUNCH of money saved! Oh, and while we're at it, make them go get health insurance policies ON THEIR OWN! I'm tired of paying for their and their families health insurance when I don't have any of my own!
It AIN'T the salary, or even all the princely perks....it's the bribes, gifts, bennies, jobs for their spouses (at $200,000 per year) free travel, access to the unspent "campaign contributions", and all the other untold, unspoken, and forever undiscovered riches given to these thieves. Why else would multi-millionaires take a job like THAT? Oh yeah, I forgot --- so they can be the next lying slug who has convinced people they want and plan to "change' the way things are done, when if fact, they merely want to change the name of the person getting the goodies. Jefferson is puking his guts out in heaven.....
