The candidate, who has promised to work to overturn Roe v. Wade, told NBC’s David Gregory that he believes in “life from conception.”

Rick:

"Moral Courage"

....
How can you call anything "moral" that has no empathy towards rape/incest?

Maybe one of Cain's relatives should rape him. Perhaps he will change his mind.

I respect the man for having the courage of his conviction; and it's refreshing to get a straight forward answer from any politician. I don't agree with his stance on abortion.... which really is a non issue. Don't believe in abortion, don't have one. It really is just that simple.

Abortion is such a minor issue these days, it shouldn't be a determining factor on who to vote for. Herman Cain's ideas and plans for the country and economy far surpass his point of view on abortion. There is never a perfect candidate and it is ignorant to be stuck on one particular point of view especially when the country is in the mess it is in right now. The courts are so established in protecting abortion, his efforts would probably be shot down. Ultimately, if a person has an abortion, God will determine her fate, just as he will for a murderer, thief, cheater, whatever.

The government over reaches once again. I get it that the law must decide when it becomes murder. But if the fetus isn't capable of surviving on it's own it isn't a live human being yet. People are trying to intertwine religion and government. Let the religious beliefs of the individuals govern their actions. They are the ones who must answer to the higher power. You simply cannot legislate morality. Place a scientifically established point at which the fetus is capable of surviving outside the womb without advanced medical proceedures and anything before that is between the person and their God and conscience. But it's whatever.

Abortion is a minor issue? Must be a man that said that.

AMEN!
What he believes is exactly that. Doesn't mean he gets to force that on everyone else.
Bravo for the bravery!

Even in the event of rape or incest is it right to execute a child for a crime its father committed. I think not.

Rick, maybe you should have been aborted because you sound like an inbred. Is that why you're defending incest?

He should have kept that card in his hand, liberials will be all over that like stink on a monkey.

As I remenber it we had a national referendum to decide pro choice and it can be won again.

We need Cain to lead us to prosperity and jobs, dump the IRS and move on. He's still got my vote because he'll never overturn Roe VS Wade.

Too many liberals, moderate republicans and independents to even try and go there.

Finally! I have never understood how anyone who calls themselves Pro-Life could condone taking an innocent life. I struggle with this issue. I personally an against abortion - no matter what. But I feel that the issue is so closely tied to religious beliefs that I struggle with the concept of telling others how to live their lives - like which religion to choose. I think that abortion is killing an innocent life and I wouldn't want to face my God when my time comes having killed my baby when I had manh other options. But, I think others would have to make that moral decision and suffer the consequences when their "time" comes.

Rick is it right to punish the mother for something she had no control over either? You say for the good of the baby, the baby isn't here yet. That woman has lived her life and because of the stupid actions of another she is supposed to sacrifice her life to have a baby she doesn't even want? No. And save any arguments that say it could be put up for adoption. I don't exactly see people clamoring to adopt children. Most reach age 18 in orphanages and then are released when they become of age. I'm with an earlier post that said if you do not believe in them then do not get one; however, do not infringe on the beliefs and convictions of another person.
