Why trade 1 man for 1000? Especially if those 1000 are supposed to be hardcore terrorists out to destroy the non-muslim world. Something smells like rotten seafood to me.
Sort of like giving a car thief a thousand roaches for the return of your vehicle. You can probably kill those roaches later, anyway.
