New Yorkers Back Occupy Wall Street Protesters, Poll Shows

Occupy Wall Street, the protest that has spread from Lower Manhattanto as far as Rome and Hong Kong, is supported by most New Yorkers, according to a Quinnipiac University survey.

Sixty-seven percent of New York City voters said they agree with the protesters’ views, while 23 percent don’t, the school’s Polling Institute said today. Support ranged from 81 percent among registered Democrats to 58 percent among independents and 35 percent from Republicans. By 72 percent to 24 percent, voters said law-abiding demonstrators can stay as long as they want.

There are only about 1000 protesters not the hundreds of thousands the media would have you believe. The poll and the protesters are bogus.

Thats the power of the MSM. I cannot believe they are providing food for those asses. Somhow we will end up footing the bill for that too i am sure.Like a bad cold ignore them and they will go away. If they really had good sense they would be spending th time looking for work.

New York should learn from Denver and drive the worthless jerks out of there.

How about you take the time to enlighten folks? How, exactly, are any of these observation so 'backward'. Or are snotty one-liners the best you can do?

The rather extensive royal family in France built ever more extravagant castles and mansions, ate the best of food at every meal, guilded their carriages in gold trim, imported the finest silk for their clothes and furnishings, wore the most expensive jewlery and traveled the world, all the while imposing ever greater taxes, fines, and fees on the serfs who were already burdened with crushing taxes. They (the "regular" citizens) also didn't eat that well, or often, (many just starved to death) and lived in sordid conditions. Substitute France for Russia, England, China, etc. Eventually the serfs decided they had nothing left to give. Arrest, imprisonment and death weren't even enough to stop their anger. Those who don't LEARN from history are bound to repeat it. How's that for "enlightment"? Millions of Americans have worked hard their entire lives, obeyed the law, and believed they would reap the rewards of that. Now, they are losing their homes, their retirement funds are stolen, and they are wondering "what the hell happened!?" Greeting customers at Wal-Mart at age 73 is NOT the
"dream" they were promised or envisioned.

FYI Occupy Wall Street has a website. Check it out. They actively solicit donations of money and goods.

Don't worry "we" won't be paying to feed the protesters and the tax payers of NY will pay for the rest.

Nothing wrong with solicting donations. Its not like the protests about the war in Vietnam. Remember those stupid dirty dope-smoking, lazy hippies who said we should NOT be in Vietnam? Remember all the conservatives who called them all those names? The rich people didn't have too many of THEIR kids over there and getting their legs blown off. They were too busy MAKING MONEY on that little fiasco. BUT, 55,000 OTHER Americans died for nothing. NOTHING! Same thing today. The rich are scared that the gravy train of money manipulation, robbing of the middle class, and their ability to bribe the government into passing laws that make it legal, is about to be exposed in a VERY bright light. They are fighting like cornered dogs to protect and perpetuate that. Do you REALLY believe that corporations and our current government give a rats ass about "we, the people"? Or the Constitution? Or any "rights" you thought you had? If so, you need to get off those drugs....
