Wall Street’s Second Occupation: The Rise of the NYPD's Homeland Security State

Are drones above New York City next as the police militarize Lower Manhattan?

These last weeks, there have been two “occupations” in lower Manhattan, one of which has been getting almost all the coverage -- that of the demonstrators camping out in Zuccotti Park. The other, in the shadows, has been hardly less massive, sustained, or in its own way impressive -- the police occupation of the Wall Street area.

Perhaps if this rabble weren't apt to become violent, perhaps if they weren't using drugs openly, perhaps if they weren't having sex, urinating and defecating in public, perhaps if they weren't stealing from each other, perhaps if they'd clean up after themselves, perhaps if they'd take a bath, perhaps if they weren't infringing on the rights of others, perhaps if they'd disperse, go back to their jobs or go to work at jobs they feel are beneath them (they're called entry-level jobs, Einstein!) and start contributing something to the society they claim to despise (the same society by the way, that has given them the freedom to demonstrate peacefully and within the law), maybe, just maybe, the cops would return to their regular duties. Ever thinka that? The cops are there BECAUSE of these fools and will go away when these fools go away! The only reason they're still there is because they are being financed by people and organizations who want the United States to become something most of us (those of us who'll eventually wind up on the wrong end of a gun barrel for trying to demonstrate against the forces they want to be in charge) will not like. They are the epitome of the "useful idiot!"

Wow. THAT must be some delicious Kool-aid. Have another sip. You must have missed the TV film of the NY cop pepper spraying defenseless and unarmed WOMEN. A REAL tough guy, looking out for our Constitutional rights. Or the NY cop wading into an unarmed and unresisting group of people, swinging his nightstick (ever been hit with one of those?) at everyone within reach. I also suppose you didn't notice the retirees or the military veterans (you know, the unwashed, dope smoking rabble bastards THEY are...) who are part of that group. I'm pretty sure THEY are not being "financed", they're just a little pissed. Rightly so. And who are the cops protecting? Believe me, if there were hundreds or thousands of people camped in Wal-Mart's parking lot protesting part time, minimum wage jobs, there MIGHT be ONE cop out there. But Wall Street? They need an ARMY busting heads and beating up women. I wonder who they are working for? Not "we, the people"...more like the one who are greedily destroying our entire monetary and economic system. And the "Constitution"? HA!!! You still think THAT means ANYTHING to our "leaders"? You better start paying more attention...
