Some See Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Stuff As Counterproductive Gimmickery

It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as you can tell from pink gloves worn by football players, pink drinks offered at restaurants and pink luxury items for sale wherever you look. While it's laudable that so many industries that seem to have little to do with cancer prevention are lending a hand, some see the flood of pink as disingenuous marketing that does little to fund cancer research.

There will never be a "cure" for cancer. There is way too much money in the search for the "cure"

7:43 You must never have had cancer or not have had it hit close to you. We can never spend too much looking for a cure. We just need to be sure where the dollars we donate go. Thats all.

i think what 7:43 was trying to say is that cancer research is generating a significant profit (think of all the researchers getting paid to research). the longer it takes to find a cure, the more money there is to be made.

that being said i won't stop donating to cancer research.
