A Letter To The Editor 9-7-11

Always heard Somerset County was a good ole boys area. After watching the Skipjack race on Monday and reading the news the following day, it appears to be a true statement. The first and third place winners are apparently owned by an out of the area non-profit foundation.   As such, there was no mention of the Sigsbee winning until waaay down in the article and Minnie V was hardly mentioned. Neither captain's names were listed.

The article began with the sad news about the Kathryn.  Well, if she hadnt committed suicide by plowing into the big red metal buoy while trying to cut off another boat, she may have finished the race afloat. And they wonder why folks don't want to relocate here.

Just as it should be. Don't like Somerset county then stay on the other side of the Bay.

You know I agree completely. I read that article and they didn't even put a picture of the winning boat - they put a picture of the Kathryn with people bailing out water. What a newspaper this thing called The Daily Times - what a joke of a newspaper.

You're kidding, right? A boat wreck keeps people away? What are you smoking. The reason the shore is getting overrun with PA and NJ retirees, is because they bring their own money. We sure as hell can't earn much here. Will the last one under 70 turn out the lights please when you leave.

It was a very poor article indeed. The winners should have received their moment in the sun instead all we get are photos of the kathryn. They didn't even give the real reason she was sinking. why anyone would choose to live in deal island is beyond me, it's a drug ridden community lead by so called Christians and wanna be hero fireman.

A NON-PROFIT (?!) organization owns a boat that they RACE? I wonder if they also make campaign "contributions" to politicians? And Deal Island has so many drug runners, the DEA should have an outpost there....

.And they wonder why folks don't want to relocate here.

WHAT?! What freakin planet are you from?

That's the whole problem. TOO MANY relocate here.

And if you don't like it and won't relocate here, GOOD! The plan is working.

That's a good example of what locals say about you whiny ass bums.

Complain, complain and complain some more.

We don't care if no one relocates here. We DON'T WANT you to relocate here.

Keep your ignorant asses right where you are. We will do just fine without you.

Always have, always will.

Please don't come here and save us. I am sure your presence will be such an enlightenment and a boon in every conceivable way.

But we will just have to sacrifice and do without all the benefits you would bring with you.

Bye now. There is no toll going west. Enjoy.

2:34 You need to stop smoking that catnip! I live on Deal Island and don't have a problem with my so called drug ridden community. Drugs and ignorance are everywhere just like you SO PEACE OUT!

I agree, the NJ, NY, PA people are overrunning us. We would be much better off without them.
