Man Accused Of Throwing Son Off Cruise Boat

Police arrest man after 7-year-old boy had to be rescued by another boater

A California man was arrested for investigation of throwing his crying 7-year-old son into the water from a sightseeing cruise boat during an argument that shocked other passengers, authorities said Monday.

Sloane Briles, 35, was taken into custody for child endangerment and resisting arrest, Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.

"The father hit him several times and then threatened to throw him overboard if he didn't stop crying," Amormino said. "The crowd on the boat became very angry at the father for hitting the kid and extremely angry when he threw him overboard."

Father-of-the-year award finalist for sure! I'm scared of him just looking at the picture.

Looks like a REAL tough guy, especially against women and children. He's been injured, but can pick up a 7 year old boy and throw him overboard? And then jump in himself and attempt a rescue? What's his injury? Don't tell me--- a "back injury"? What a pansy...give him some jail time with some authentically tough guys...

12:37, I'm assuming you wrote that just to see what reactions you might elicit--at least, I hope so. 1:37, I can't imagine what the "whole story" might be. It was all spelled out pretty well, I thought. The man threw his child overboard. What more to the story could there be?

I take offense at your insinuation that back injuries are trivial. I can assure you they are not.
