Resume:
Seaford- The Delaware State Police are currently searching for a male suspect after he inappropriately touched a three year old juvenile in the bathroom of a fast food restaurant yesterday evening in Seaford, DE.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. yesterday as a Laurel, DE woman and her three year old son were inside of the Burger King Restaurant located in the 24000 block of Sussex Highway in Seaford. As the mother waited in line to receive her food order, the three year old responded to the men’s bathroom. A short time later, the victim’s mother responded to the bathroom and called for her son. After not receiving an initial response, the mother called again for her son at which time the men’s bathroom door was opened by another male patron of the restaurant who asked her if a small child inside of the bathroom was her son. The mother then looked in the bathroom where she observed her son standing inside with his pants down around his ankles and his shirt missing. It was at this point that the male suspect described above exited the stall inside of the bathroom, holding the victim’s shirt. The mother and the 3 year old victim then fled from the bathroom with the suspect following them, attempting to return the victim’s shirt. The mother then grabbed the shirt from the suspect, fled from the restaurant with her son, and called 9-1-1 from a nearby residence. The suspect was last seen entering a gold or silver vehicle described as possibly being a Dodge Neon. A subsequent interview of the victim was conducted at which time it was revealed that the male suspect had touched the victim’s penis while they were in the bathroom.

I am not defending the man pictured but in my opinion a 3 yr old should not be sent alone into a public restroom.
Hold on a minute, this woman let a 3 year old in the bathroom of a fast food restaurant BY HIS SELF??? Everyday we hear sex offenders in DELAWARE and most recently, the Earl Bradley case. Seems like CAC needs to look more into this child's welfare! This guy, better hope I dont come across him at a restaurant! Sounds like someone from Chandler Hights.
What the heck? I never let my children out of my sight in public. Unbelievable. Yes reality is there are nuts woman. Don't allow your child to be a victim. I will print out this picture and carry it in my car.
Totally agree with the above comments! A three year old should NEVER be left alone, especially in a public place! What was the mother thinking?! And how many times has a three year old decided to strip because they didn't want to wear their clothes? Everything sounds fishy to me. If the man did what they are accusing him of, shame on him and I hope they catch him.
The woman needs counciling!!!
I agree with all of the above. It is very commonplace and considered approriate for a three-year-old to accompany his mother into the ladies' room. I used to think that if would be ok for a mother to ask a gentleman, someone who LOOKED trustworthy, to take the boy into the men's room, but these days we should not trust anyone, I guess.
What I don't get is how she could just send him in there alone while she stood in line to get food! I agree that it is very accepted to bring a 3 year old boy into the woman's bathroom, but if for whatever reason she felt he was independent enough to use the men's, then the VERY LEAST she should have done was stand right by the door.
I wonder if the child had just come out of the stall with pants around his ankles and had taken his shirt off. What if this wanted man had saw him and walked inside the stall to get his shirt and help him get himself together??? What if this man was just trying to help?
I don't know how much credibility this mom will have because she could have assumed that something happened and her 3 year old believes and just repeats her story during the interview.
Now, if this man really touched this child inappropriately, then by all means, he should be convicted of a crime! Guess we will have to wait and see....
Yes, child services should remove that child from a home where a mother lets a 3 year old go to a public restroom alone. What other dangerous situations does she allow while she's busy with "other" things? What kind of an irresponsible parent would do that?
If the guy is a child molester, of course he should be caught and put in jail to get what he deserves everyday.! But such an irresponsible mother is a threat to the child's safety every day he is in her care.
12:56, I never thought of that explanation. I guess we better be careful even offering help to a little kid lest we be branded a pervert. Knowing 3-year-olds, I can just see him taking his shirt off and all that. And you're also right that the mother could have stood right outside the door after telling him that she'd be there and to yell out if there was a problem.
I don't know why you all are ganging up on this woman. How was she to know there was a perv in there (or anyone for that matter) it's not a busy place, she was right next room and he could scream if problem.
How do you think she found him so fast, because she was paying attention.
I learned everything there was to know by the time i was 3 to 5 years old. I was wiring up electric outlets at age 3 (shhh don't tell the inspector, heck I was driving a backhoe when I was 5). I'd walk to the store down the street to buy a drink. I'd go off exploring way back in the woods with my 7 year old and 4 year old cousins.
Guess you want my parents locked up too?
2:33, seriously? Times are different! How do you know that BK wasn't busy? Did you ever think about the layout of the restaurant? Go down a hallway, out of site from the line to order food, to go into bathrooms...also pass exit doors in between so a child abduction would also be easy.
The child could be just as smart as you were at age 3, but that doesn't mean you would have known what to do if a grown man to charge of you. And I can't agree that she "found him so fast", after all he had time to be almost fully undressed.
Nevertheless, I don't think people are ganging up on this woman but are expressing their opinion that it was a poor choice of judgement.
2:48 is exactly right! The mother made a very, very poor, irresponsible decision that obviously led to a 3 year old being in what may have been a very dangerous situation that SHE could have prevented simply by being a responsible parent! What is wrong with readers pointing out that glaring fact? I wouldn't let such an irresponsible person walk my dog much less care for a child!
Why wouldd anyone in their right mind send in a 3 year old in the bathroom by his self? Where is her brain? I can say it was not on her 3 year old.
A perv touched a child and you are upset because she let him go to the bathroom by himself?
What is the appropriate age a youngster can go potty by his big boy self?
I guess next you will want a registry of people who let their kids go to the bathroom.
Why didn't she have someone call the police for bk instead of a residence?
You are quick to condemn. You must be those perfect people I hear so much about but never meet.
In the state of Maryland it is illegal to leave children under the age of 8 unattended. However, an 8 year old can be left home alone but can only be babysat by someone 13 and up. The 13 year old can only babysit children over the age of 8. What are the laws on letting them go to the bathroom by themselves? I know that I cannot leave my children in a car unattended for a second unless the children are 8 and over plus with someone 13 and up. Many people are unaware of these laws. In other words, as silly as it may sound, the mother might have thought it was ok to let her 3 year old to the bathroom by themself. I wouldn't but these laws need to be clarified and they are not well known.
it has nothing to do with laws 7:00...its called common sense that you dont let a 3yr old go to the bathroom by themselves in a public place! And yes 5:45 people are upset over the fact that the mother allowed the child go to the bathroom by his self because if she had been a responsible parent this would have never happened to her son! Their are sick people in this country and a parents responsibility is to protect their child from those people!
point is no one should let their 3 year old a lone in a public place like that PERIOD! and if you say other then you need to be evaluated!
11:25pm Common sense should be that you cannot leave an 8 year old home by themselves but in the state of Maryland you can. Laws are important. It is the difference between pressing charges and not pressing charges. I agree with you. I would never allow a 3 year old to go to the bathroom by themselves and I would never leave an 8 year old home by themselves!
What a sick man this person is and how dumb was the mother to let a 3 year old do anything by himself?? Me and my husband went to visit our son in ICU when we were entering the hospital there was a little girl in a dress left outside by herself we could not believe that a parent had left in her in parking lot unattended by herself we reported it to security when we got inside .What has happened to common sense???
