USA Today reports monument makers - that is, the folks who make tombstones - are embedding QR codes to help people find the markers in cemeteries. People who scan the code are taken to a website that includes the deceased's obituary and a photo gallery highlighting the person's life. New uses for the technology are popping up almost daily. There are no licensing fees, no restrictions, and people can use the codes for everything from grave sites to marking nature trails to selling band merchandise and music downloads during concerts.
