A 78-year-old Pennsylvania man suffered surf-related injuries while at Tower Beach state park July 16.
The man may have been facing the beach when a wave hit him from behind, but there was a language barrier that made it difficult to understand the whole story, said Cpl. Dylon Parks of the state Parks and Resource Management division.
The man was pulled out of the water and driven to Rehoboth Elementary where a helicopter picked him up and flew him to Christiana Hospital, Parks said.
The man’s current condition was not available. The surf was normal at the time of the accident, Parks said.
