Delta Airlines charged members of a U.S. Army unit returning from service in Afghanistan through BWI Marshall Airport more than $2,800 in additional baggage fees, according to a video testimonial shared via YouTube.
The troops say their travel orders permitted them to bring up to four bags. According to Delta's statement on the military baggage fees, coach passengers can bring only three for free, although those in first or business class may have four. Each bag can also weigh an additional 20 pounds over the standard allowance.
Each additional bag required a $200 fee, one staff sergeant said.

When my husband returned from vietnam all his baggage was duty free. After all everything they own is in those bags. It is a shame to treat these men this way. I guess they are out to make a buck no matter what.
another reason to fly southwest!
the mainline legacy carriers are all about screwing you!

Funny as I type this NBC news is covering it now
It is ashame that a supervisor can't overide a charge like that.
the govt is running out of money these fees have always existed they were just paid by the govt for members of the military.now that the govt is running out of mony soldiers are getting stuck with the bill.instead of reducing the high salaries and benefits govt officials get theyd rather cut back on the people who fight for them.
