The suspect in the murder of American University Professor Sue Ann Marcum is "hiding in plain sight within a few miles of the U.S. Border," say Montgomery County law enforcement officials, frustrated that Mexican authorities have not yet apprehended him.
The suspect, Jorge Rueda Landeros, "hasn't gone underground. He's working as a yoga instructor in a coffee shop," in Ciudad Juarez Mexico, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation.
Police secured an international warrant charging Landeros with murder more than three weeks ago.
WTOP has learned Montgomery County police, working with El Paso, Texas police, obtained a DNA sample from Landeros during his last visit to the United States, approximately two months ago.
"We got a buccal swab, by wiping a Q-tip along the inside of his cheek. It was consensual," says the source.
Soon after submitting to the DNA test, Landeros went back to Mexico. He has not returned.

He got the idea from Bin Laden.
Send Dog the bounty Hunter. And then maybe they'll keep him this time.
Time to call Virginia Beach residents, SEAL Team VI! He'll go underground for sure, about six feet.
For a Chulupa and a burrito I will go there and bring him back in a suit case.
