Maryland health officials say a recent heat wave contributed to the first two heat-related deaths in the state this year.
The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene announced Tuesday that a Cecil County man and an Anne Arundel County woman, both over 65 years old, died in the past 10 days from exposure to excess heat. Officials say both were over 65 years old and had underlying medical conditions.
Health officials warn that more high temperatures are expected Wednesday and Thursday.
