Drunken drivers who get into accidents may sue the taverns where they were overserved, under a split New Jersey Supreme Court decision Wednesday in an appeal by a Toms River restaurant being sued by a Brick man.
In a 5-2 decision, the state's highest court said Frederick Voss, 47, of Brick is not barred by state law from suing Tiffany's Restaurant in Toms River, where he had been drinking on Nov. 9, 2006, before being injured in a motorcycle accident. The ruling upholds a decision issued last year by the state Appellate Division of Superior Court.

What comes next is a chart at the doorway or on the table or menu that limits your drink numbers by your weight as documented on your driver's licence. Liars will not be allowed, so look forward to being weighed at the door if you don't look like your stated weight.
And when you get ready to leave, you might have to blow for a blood alcohol level to see if you're within limits when you exit the door. If you're over, they might not let you leave until somebody takes responsibility for you.
What's with the 75 year old cop?
This will just start a new set of law suits. The first person they refuse to sell alcohol to will claim they are racist or some other stupid reason.
