Crime In Salisbury

An interested reader submitted this link:

http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/neighborhoods/crime-rates/top100dangerous/

According to this website, Salisbury still rates a pretty high crime rate.  To be honest, I’m not sure how up-to-date the information is.  However, it does offer some nice map overlays of crime in the Salisbury area.

Check it out and let us know what you think.

Sad to say, but it is probably true. I used to live in Detroit years ago, and never was a victum of crime as much as I have been here. My car has been broken into several times, I've been shot, My home has been burglerized twice. I think to put a stop to a lot of this crap the people of Maryland need to be like 41 other states in the US and allowed to carry conciled guns for protection of life and property. In every state that has addopted a "Shall Issue" policy, the crime rate has declined. None of the states have become, "Dodge City" as the gun haters claimed they would.
Think about it, would you, if your were a thug, attack a person that could shoot you if you tried to rob them? Probably not, but right now you can go after anoyone and the worst your going to get is a fist or two, but so what your tough, your a street thug!

A family member an officer of the Delaware State police favors citizens carrying a firearm. Maryland and Delaware should make the move.

It lists the population as 24,159 so my guess is that this information was collected using stats from the 2000 census as the 2010 census put us at roughly 30,000. Info based on statistics over a decade old is not very helpful.

The population went up, so did crime. Of course, this is TWO years old but current enough.
