New Study Demonstrates Economic Development Potential of Offshore Wind
WHAT: Environment Maryland and the United Steelworkers have co-authored a new research report on the job creation potential of offshore wind power. Maryland legislators are currently debating a proposal from Gov. Martin O’Malley to require the state’s utilities to purchase electricity from a wind farm located off the coast of Maryland. Backers contend that the project would boost employment in the state. This report looks at the reality of that question.
The CEO of the company that just announced they are opening a wind turbine blade manufacturing facility in Salisbury will be on hand to give a real world picture of building the wind power industry in Maryland.
