Joe this is very true Wicomico County Road Works needs seven workers and three trucks and a loader to lay a 20 foot drain culvert pipe that weighs about
60 pounds. Almost forgot, they also
have a supervisor in another truck
watching them and drinking coffee.

This is so true! I keep saying, there are many who have cushy government jobs with great benefits and pensions that are not interested in doing the JOB.
Get rid of them and get rid of the waste portrayed in your post and our government will have plenty of money!

I think this also shows the problem with a college education. People with degrees by and large believe their days of working hard are over the minute they graduate. How many of the jobs pictured here normally require degrees?

Only Jose, who is probably illegal, is a laborer. This is also why Americans who are unskilled or skilled labor are getting the shaft. If you don't have a degree in America then you either have to live off of peanuts or watch your job go to an illegal who is living in a 1 bedroom house with 12 other illegals. How can an American compete with that?

Perhaps the illegal is doing the hard work b/c most American's don't want to. It is beneath them. This is exactly why illegals will con't to come to this country, because they know when push comes to shove most of us won't do the dirty work.

Most Americans are hard workers.....it's just the majority govt workers that are in question.

i would say this pic reminds me of the city of salisbury public works department. and if the camera show ed the utility truck there would be one or two #1 males sleeping.

What is a job Americans won't do? We work in all manner of jobs from literally processing your pool (yes you) to working in Perdue's kill room... and those are just in Salisbury! I am tired of people claiming Americans won't do certain jobs. It's BS!

Ah, heck, I thought that I would write a clever post about how the picture looks like the Salisbury, Wicomico, or Maryland Roads Department, but 10:42 a.m. and 8:18 beat me to it. It seems that, whenever I go past a "work" crew, there are six standing around while one is really working.
