With that in mind, the American Israeli Action Coalition (AIAC) kicked-off of its “Get out the Vote” campaign among Americans living in Israel for the November 2010 U.S. Congressional elections. AIAC held a press conference in Jerusalem.
AIAC Chairman Harvey Schwartz explained the initiative. "It is estimated that there are more than 100,000 potential American voters living in Israel. They have a right (and an obligation) to vote in – and can have a significant impact on -- the upcoming U.S. Congressional elections."
The congressional elections are viewed by many in Israel and America as a possible turning point which could swing the American government away from the policies of Barack Obama, who many say is anti-Israel. Scwatz insisted, though, that the AIAC campaign was not levelled against Obama. "This is most definitely not an anti-Obama campgain," he said emphatically. "This is a pro-American Israeli campaign."
AIAC plans to conduct a major campaign to register as many American voters living in Israel as possible to exercise their right to participate in the U.S. electoral process. "In these critical times," said Schwatz, "it is incumbent upon all Americans to vote for their choice of elected officials – and that includes the Americans living in Israel as well."

If you want to support Isreal so bad, than take your butt over there and renounce your American citizenship. US interests should always come first.
Israel IS a US interest-- our main (and perhaps only) ally in the region.
The battle front is now the middle east-- how stupid could it be to renounce our only solid ally there and throw them under the bus?

They have bought and paid for our country and its natural resources and lands.
We will do exactly as they instruct.
And we will wait patiently for their Messiah who will allow us to build them a promised land.
11:15, my point is that Isreal should always be an ally as long as it serves the best interest of the American people. We shouldn't be protecting them because some bible thumper interprets scripture to believe that we should bomb all the brown people in order to protect the jews and their "Promised Land". Unfortunately that is the argument that is often presented instead of addressing if or how this alliance benefits our country.

I've not heard that presented. I've heard that we should protect Israel as God's people, and that's correct, but our interests are well-served by doing so (and you will find that obeying God will ALWAYS be in your best interest..)
4:51, you illustrate my point exactly. Got to love that separation of church and state. It is YOUR (and many people like you) interpretation of scripture that would have us continue to protect Isreal. While I share the same faith, I have a different interpretation. No problem. We are free to worship as we please. But when it comes to decisions that affect us all, our government does not need to make a foreign policy decision based on the interpretation of scripture (as illustrated by our disagreement) but by what is going to be the best choice to preserve our nation so that me and you both can continue to freely worship Christ here in the US. I'm not saying leave Isreal out to dry. I'm just saying, I'm going to need a better reason than the "Isreal good, everyone else bad" argument.
And last I checked, we were all God's people, created by Him in his image.

I think it's a valid point that the US shouldn't just 'take care of Israel' as a religious duty, but it isn't the reason we're doing it.
The 'religious' purpose is IN ADDITION to the military/economic purposes, not THE reason.
They are a strategic ally, a force for stability in an otherwise volatile area, and vital to protecting our interests.
And PS- there is no 'separation of church and state' in the Constitution, but I'm sure you already knew that.. :-)

Since when has Isreal been stable? If we have spent hundreds of billions of dollars over decades for this "stability", I'd say we got a pretty raw deal. No wonder the pols. through us under the bus when negotiating free trade deals.
The region became unstable in 1947 when the racist Luciferian regime came in to oust people from their homelands
