I met Barbara Mikulski in 1986 when I proudly became the Field Director for her very first Senate campaign. Now, as Maryland's Governor, I couldn't be more proud to stand with Barbara once again.
As my Senator, she's been at the forefront of issues most important to our state. She fought for women's rights in health care, to protect the Chesapeake Bay, to bring jobs back to Maryland, and to stop offshore drilling. Barbara has never lost focus on what matters most.
