Guerrero Fight

There is one thing that remains the same in terms of Fernando Guerrero's scheduled fight. That one thing is that he is still scheduled to fight. However, the date and the place have changed and even the opponent may changed. "Obviously it takes a slight readjustment when you are getting ready for a specific date, opponent and additional altitude training, but in the end we have a little more time to prepare, we will be fighting in an area that is very familiar with Fernando and we eliminate the need to go into altitude training. So it's not a bad thing at all" Said manager/co-trainer Hal Chernoff.

A scheduling change by Showtime, has now moved the bout that was set for June 25th in Albuquerque N.M.to Friday, July 16th. The fight will now take place just over the state line from Memphis TN, at the Desoto Civic Center in Southaven MS.

"We are not always privy to some of the things that happen or the reasons behind them, and the truth is we don't want to get into that part of it right now. Our job is to adjust when it does happen and be ready on fight night. The main thing is we know three of the four key answers that we need to start preparing. We have the date, The weight and the place, all that's left is locking in with an opponent. We have a few different names we are looking at, and hope to have something definite soon." Chernoff added.

Another new twist to this bout is that the One-Two Punch of Porter-Guerrero will round out the televised portion of the card, that will be promoted by Prizefight Promotions. These two are giving the boxing world something very special to watch.

The Guerrero-Porter combination also gives those traveling to the fight more to watch as Shawn "Showtime"Porter has become very well known to all the Guerrero fight fans after fighting here in Salisbury 4 times, twice as a co-main event with Fernando. "Salisbury is like a second home to us" Porter has stated " "I love this place"

The undercard is not yet complete, but in the standard fashion of Prizefight Promotions, it is expected there will be some very exciting bouts to start the night off.

The change of venue also makes it easier for anyone wishing to travel to the fight by flying out of Salisbury to Charolette and on the Memphis.

As soon as more details are finalized we will release any new information.
