Emergency Repair Of Bridge On I-95 Northbound Will Require Nighttime Lane Closures

Beginning Monday, June 7

Newark
-- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces emergency repairs are needed to the expansion joints on the bridge over the Christina Creek along I-95 northbound just north of the Route 896 interchange. These repairs will require nighttime lane closures. The lane closures will occur from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., beginning on Monday, June 7 and ending on Friday, June 18, pending weather. At all times, two lanes will remain open for traffic while crews are working.

During the repair work, Route 896 northbound and southbound to I-95 northbound ramps will remain open. The contractor for these improvements is Mumford & Miller.

As in any work zone, motorists are reminded to pay attention to traffic control devices, signs, and posted speed limits to ensure safe passage through the work zone.
