In one of the election’s closest and tactically significant statewide races, state Senate candidates Jim Mathias and Michael James are mostly separated by party affiliation and running on their resumes. Both say they are anti-tax, pro small-business fiscal conservatives and lean on those stances above all others.
For James, the objective is to link Mathias to the liberal Democratic establishment while Mathias highlights his record of breaking with the party on taxes and spending in his votes in the House of Delegates.

I am not a big fan of Michael James, but my days of crossing party lines and voting for a Democrat are over thanks to the big disappointment of Jim Ireton, wannabe Mayor of Salisbury.
Democrats have proven over and over again that they cannot be trusted on taxes and spending. If they really wanted less tax and spend they would consistantly vote with the conservatives on these issues. I'll be voting for the conservatives across the board.
Michael James is THE best person for the job. He has experience turning failing business around (sound familiar to the state of MD?), and has more integrity than anyone I know.
Check Mathias' voting record...point out one thing that he voted for in opposition to the Dems that would benefit the Eastern Shore.
michael james has done nothing but run a hotel. useless as a politician.
jim mathias is well aware of the area and it's needs. been there to help us with many difficulties. a phone call away. and he's on it. even with his wife being so ill. he'll get my vote and most everyone i know.
Dumbocrats will be the downfall of this nation.
