PREVIEW: Following a wash out at Perdue Stadium on Monday night, the Shorebirds hit the road for five games against West Virginia. This is the second series at Power Park this season. West Virginia comes to Perdue Stadium between July 14 and July 18 for a five-game series.
FIRST ROAD GAME SINCE: The Shorebirds hit the road for the first time since June 12th when they finished a three-game series against Lexington. The ‘Birds have only played seven games on the road in the month of June. Including the all-star break, the Shorebirds spent 16 straight days on the Eastern Shore.
‘BIRDS LOSE STAMPONE: Stampone suffered an injury to his left hand on Monday night. Stampone ranked second on the team in RBIs with 28. He was batting .249 in 59 games for the Shorebirds.
LIMITED SUCCESS AT POWER PARK: The Shorebirds are 1-10 in their last 11 trips to Appalachian Power Park. The Power won all seven meetings last year.
BEST MONTH?: A win tonight would give the Shorebirds their 12th win in June, tied with April for the most in a month this season. The Shorebirds went 12-10 in April and 10-20 in May. The ‘Birds are 11-11 in June.
