How To Use Facebook's New Privacy Controls
Lifehacker has a handy guide to and analysis of the new, streamlined privacy controls just announced by Facebook. There's also the full version posted on Facebook. The new controls are simpler, but fall short in some respects.
10:00 Actually there is a place where you need to UNCHECK a box. Its a new feature that allows facebook to share your information with others. Most dont even know it's there unless someone tells them.
Go to ACCOUNT...... PRIVACY......APPLICATIONS & WEBSITES... at the bottom you will see INSTANT PRESONALIZATION. You have to go in there and UNCHECK it if you dont want your information shared.
Am I the only one dumbfounded by the depth of personal information some people post on FB?Things that people really should keep to themselves?Or post photos that are too revealing?I have seen posts where people get explicit about their sex life, drug use, etc, etc, and then they are amazed when everyone "gets in their business".Teenagers are especially guilty of this.
