BREAKING NEWS: Thomas Leggs Case Going To Cecil County

Judge Long delivered the news to States Attorney Davis Ruark this morning. The Thomas Leggs Murder Trial will be in Cecil County, Elkton, Maryland to be exact.

Elkton is about two hours from Salisbury, meaning quite a bit of time and expense on Wicomico County. The Tolls alone will be $12.00 per day, per vehicle. That is, if you take Rt. 13 to Dover, Rt. 1 to Rt 95 to Rt. 279 in Elkton. You can avoid the Tolls by taking Rt. 50 West to Rt. 213 North and ride that to the end in Elkton.

More to come.

UPDATE: Judge D. William Simpson will be the residing Judge in this murder trial. Originally posted at 10:49 AM. Thomas Leggs is accused of murdering 11 year old Sarah Foxwell.

Elkton, MD..... the marriage capital of the world. Great decision by Judge Long. Thanks.

Joe, what do you think about starting a fund for travel expenses for the family and for the time off they will need to take and maybe some volunteers to drive them up? I think it is time again to come together as a community and help them again. Thoughts?

Rt. 13 to Delaware 1 in Dover, exit Rt 1 at Middletown/Odessa. Left (west) over 299, Rt on 71, North on 301/896 to Rt 40. West on 40 to Rt 213, middle of Elkton.

Only one toll ($1) this way and if traffic is good, about 2 hours each way. You can also avoid the $1 toll by taking 13 through Dover to 71.

Honestly, either of those ways are as fast (if not faster) than 95 and 1 through the tolls.

no tolls if you take Rt 13N to Rt 896 to Rt 40W to Elkton. I'm from that area.

Please take down his picture. It makes me sick to even see it. Leave up the information. We need the people of the jury to see a great presence of the Easern Shore in attendance. Cant hurt!

It won't change the tolls, but the best way to Elkton is Rt. 1 to Rt.72 (1st exit after the C&D Canal bridge). Then turn left on Rt. 40 (Pulaski Hwy). I go there quite often on my job and have tried all the routes-this is the best.

Do they honestly think nobody in Cecil County knows of this crime?
On a side note,Cecil Couny is alot like Somerset County, just with more rednecks.

I hope the mother and the father go. If they work the boss man should let them go with pay.

Perhaps saying "from your lips to Gods ears" isn't very christian but I hope you are right.

Is that the retired judge from down Princess Anne way?

WHEN he is convicted and WHEN they finally kill him, we should have a holiday every year called Cinco de Leggo.

We went through this with my Brother's Murder. We had to drive to Campell County Va. for every trial. But in the end it was worth every mile we went , to hear a judge give them life with no parole. Stay strong family our prayers will be with you.

Wow, Judge Long has really done his job well. Judge Simpson will make sure that there are not any mistakes made from the bench. Great choice!

Judge simpson is from Wicomico County. Cecil County will totally ruin this monster.

I've been praying they find a way to bring him out of retirement to hear this case. My next choice was Rex "Hot Dog" Simpkins from Somerset County. This is great news for all except Leggs. Simpson won't play games from the bench and he won't allow games to be played by the attorneys. Hallelujah, there is justice in this world.

Couldn't be more pleased to have Judge Simpson hear this case. It will be done right.

Judge Simpson and Cecil county. There could not be a better combination.

Good choice. Bill Simpson will assure that the trial is clean of any legal mistakes. He's the best. Thanks Judge Long! Our prayers have been answered.

I personally don't like 13 north. Too much stop and go traffic for me. The nicest and less stressful drive is west 50, turn right on 213, right on 301, left 313, continue on 213. left on 40 to Elkton. No Tolls. If you are good with directions drive through Sharptown, Eldorado, Federalsburg, Denton, Goldsboro, and Sudlersville. Its a short cut to 301 and good peaceful country driving.

Old Judge Simpson will not let those Baltimore Public Offenders play any games!

Very glad to see it's Judge Simpson. I hope Leggs can feel the needle in his arm!!

Sounds like some good news we needed to hear! Praying justice is served and swiftly! Now we need to find the pervert who was standing naked over the little girl who woke up in her bedroom on Princeton Ave in Salisbury, MD and fry him too! We have to rid our communities of this evil!
