Tell them to: Vote for and pass the Brownback Amendment!
As a Automotive Dealership employee that has served its community for 92 years, I strongly suggest you vote and pass the Brownback Amendment.
With 94% of all vehicles purchased being financed, taking away the Dealers right to facilitate and offer affordable financing to our customers will be devastating in an already tough economic climate.
Auto Dealerships are not financial institutions, banks, or direct lenders. Dealers are simply small businesses that are already highly regulated by the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Reserve, and State Attorney General. If the Brownback Amendment is not passed it will hurt consumers, raise auto interest rates, and give even more control and less competition to the banks themselves.
Vote and pass the Brownback Amendment!
Respectfully,

do not vote on that. auto dealers mark up the fininancing to the end user from the banks . its called clips people.
No, I don't think so. The government is doing scary things with health insurance and environmental regulation. Call them about that. If you can actually afford to buy a car right now, go get your financing yourself before you buy. Anon 10:55 is telling you why.
So I guess you have never needed financing for any vehicle you have purchased?
No one is forced to get their auto financing through the dealership. If you can get a lower rate from a bank or your credit union, that will still be available.
More competition is always better for the consumer.
No one forces you to get financing from a dealer. You can use your bank, credit union or other financial institution. I bought a car yesterday and let the dedaler arrange the financing and got a rate of 4.25% . Do your own homework and no one can take advantage of you. It is called personal resposibility.
I would be more inclined to help but the auto dealers haven't really been on the up and up and consumers are much better off finding their own financing sorry !
Pay cash
MAybe if the car dealerships did not add charges and dubious financing, we would need such a bill. Until the, you are on your own.
I know that DOD is backing this due to dealerships ripping off our servicemen and women. As a former Auto salesman, I don't know how dealerships are not sued for fraud everyday!!
Maybe If You Guys Were Not So Busy Adding Extras You Wouldnt Be Begging For Consumer Help. You Get What You Deserve . BUY PRESTON
I just financed a new vehicle with Wilminton Trust that was offered through Sherwood Dodge and Chrysler. The rate was 3.24 and would have been 2.84 if I had not put the vehicle in my business name. The loan was amortized for four years.
I had called my bank and some others, and the best rate I was quoted was 5.25.
I could not find a better rate than the one offered through the Dealership. In addition, they offered the dealer price for the line-X bedliner and will be providing my first oil change for free.

To Chris at Pohanka:
I wouldn't worry to much about the Brownback amendment because your service department has increased its labor rate 3 times over the past 6 months.
With these recent increases your dealership should sustain some serious profits and/or diminished business.
Milkulski and Cardin are liberal dumbocrats, and I wouldn't waste my time talking to both old dried up geezers. I thought Milkulski was brought out from her nursing home.

Congrats on the vehicle. We also bought a new vehicle yesterday. After contacting all the local banks we went to the dealer. We ended up getting 3.89% on our loan. There was not a local bank that would come anywhere close to that.
