Joe-
I just got a call from somebody claiming to represent an organization that "helps terminally ill cancer patients in their struggle."
I asked if it was a solicitation, and the girl dodged the question.
I told her we are on the Do Not Call list.
She said "We are exempt from that-- we are a non-profit."
She was very pushy.
I told her to put us on their Do Not Call list and not to call anymore.
That's when she started ranting-- she said "You don't want to help? You won't help these people??"
She was interrupting, rude, and very aggressive-- trying to intimidate me.
Typical behavior of a scam.
Beware.. if they call, just hang up.

"Typical behavior of a scam"? Seems to me all these telemarketers are pushy. They read from a script and have scripts for every type of possible objection you give them.
We have caller ID. We don't recognize the number and no name of individual or companny is shown, they can talk to the machine, which they don't. Once the number shows up a few more times, they are given the slam of the received as we pick it up and put it down with a touch of force. Sooner, or later, they get the message.
Should have told her...."If you are non-profit, then dont call me to profit from me!". That makes them very angry and they hang up. LOL
Just tell them you need to set the phone down in order to get your credit card.
Oh, don't forget to hang up before going to bed.
1130 haha. I lay the phone down and then blast music in it.
We have a whistle we blow into the phone if they continue to call us after we've asked not to be called again.
Once we do this, they never call us again!
