Calling For Reform, Obama Warns Of More Crises

President condemns ‘failure of responsibility’ in Washington and Wall St

WASHINGTON
- President Barack Obama will urge Congress Thursday not to let the chance for an overhaul of Wall Street regulations slip away and will warn of the risk of another financial crisis if reforms are not enacted.

In a speech in New York laying out his case for legislation to crack down on Wall Street regulation, Obama will tap into widespread anger at large financial institutions by highlighting the impact of the 2008-2009 financial crisis on the broader economy. The speech is scheduled for 11:55 a.m. ET.

"One of the most significant contributors to this recession was a financial crisis as dire as any we've known in generations," Obama will say, according to excerpts from his speech released by the White House.

So why are you in love with the criminals on Wall Street 11:08? Perhaps you believe we should "thank" those assholes for the meltdown of the US and World economys. These guys need to be taken to the woodshed.

11:08 said nothing about the Wall St. idiots. S(He) would just as likely be right alongside you to tar and feather those who stole.

As for hope and change, I HOPE we have sense enough to CHANGE the entire makeup of Congress, and eventually the administration, to more closely reflect the Constitution. This nation grew strong when following these principles.

Now, to the original article, funny how the anointed one calls for the possibility of "more crisis". Isn't it his right hand man who made the comment, "Never let a crisis go to waste". Crisis situations make for excellent "smoke and mirrors" to focus everyone's attention on one issue while the belly crawling snakes slide something by in the back door.

And all this hoopla about the "financial crisis". I'll believe it when I start seeing fast food restaurants closing and other discretionary spending being cut by consumers. Another thing, with all the jobs being lost, why are the car lots not filling up with BMW's, Lexus', and the like? Because the jobs we're loosing are production jobs. The pencil pusher, paper shufflers are still there, drawing the big salaries while Joe Blow is being told, "well, according to your last year's income, you aren't eligible for public assistance".

Wall Street are idiots? Obama an idiot? We the people are the idiots for letting this self serving, egotistical President shove his policies down our throats.
