HEBRON COMMISSIONERS = BUFFOONS

At their meeting last night, this gang managed to exceed even the “Dream Team” Council in Salisbury that rezoned the old Salisbury Mall only to have it thrown out on appeal by the Wicomico County Circuit Court. The Commissioners decided to both appeal the recent opinion by that Court that the “Waller Landing” rezoning was unlawful and to immediately try again to rezone the land to allow the mega-development that has been proposed at the intersection of Route 50 and Porter Mill Road by a developer from Wilmington.

The town does not have sewage treatment capacity for anything like what the developer wants to build, which would completely destroy the small town nature of Hebron. And the new state regulations for storm water management will probably require substantial redesign of the proposed development.

The State of Maryland and Wicomico County have been opposed to the “Waller Landing” development. Let’s hope that continues until it is finally abandoned.

Are they still using that hot-shot attorney (from Annapolis, I think) that lost the case in the Circuit Court? Didn't he get slapped by a judge in Baltimore for filing a frivilous appeal?

Waller Landing as you know it will have to be completely redesigned to begin with because of the new storm water management regulations that come into effect as of May 4th. I have not looked but if they are also located in the critical areas the laws restricting development in those ares have changed drastically as well.

Better look again. The new regs are going to be watered down to exempt projects "in the pipeline" and probably this one. It is not in the critical area either.

yes please. keep hebron as it was intended. if this goes down i will be moving to mardela or sharptown. hebron water/sewer/trash bill has skyrocketed over the past couple years and is over DOUBLE what it was 5 years ago. i can jyust imagine that price being equal to my overinflated electric bill to cover the city boys that will be moving into waller estates. pssshhhht!
big city attitudes not welcome.
