Salisbury Police Department Press Releases


On January 6, 2010 at approximately 1:10 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the area of South Boulevard for the report of a subject in possession of stolen property. Upon arrival the officers located the below listed suspect in a vehicle. A check of the vehicle revealed property stolen from a residential garage on Long Avenue. The property was recovered.

ARRESTED: Zachary Christopher Hufnell, 20 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft (under $ 100)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 201000000706


On January 6, 2010 at approximately 1:44 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a vacant residence on the three hundred (300) block of Martin St. for the report of a burglary. Upon arrival the officers met with a witness who advised that he had observed a subject exiting the residence with stolen property. The witness is employed by the owner of the residence to maintain the residence. Upon his arrival the witness observed the suspect take a quantity of copper tubing from the residence and flee from the area on a bicycle. Officers located the suspect who was positively identified by the witness. The copper tubing that had been cut from the residence was recovered from the suspect’s backpack.

CHARGES: Fourth degree burglary

Malicious destruction of property
Burglary to commit theft

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking CC # 201000000742

On January 7, 2010 at approximately 6:30 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of W. Church St. and Poplar Hill Avenue and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by below listed suspect # 1 for traffic violations. During the traffic stop it was found that suspect # 1’s license was suspended. Suspect # 1 was taken into custody and a check of the vehicle revealed a smoking device containing suspected “crack”/cocaine. Suspect # 2 was a passenger in the vehicle in close proximity to the smoking device.

CHARGES: Driving while suspended
Possession of cocaine
Possession of cds/paraphernalia
Driving without a license

ARRESTED #2: Kimberly Renee Worley, 18 years of age
Pittsville, Maryland

CHARGES: Possession of cocaine
Possession of cds/paraphernalia

DISPOSITION: Both released to Central Booking

On January 7, 2010 at approximately 10:25 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the six hundred (600) block of Light Street for the report of a residence that had been damaged by spray painting. The investigation of the incident revealed that the below listed suspects had come into possession of black spray paint and were responsible for the spray painted damage.

ARRESTED #1: Juvenile, 12 years of age

ARRESTED #2: Juvenile, 15 years of age

CHARGES (both): Malicious destruction of property
