AND, NOW, IT’S ANOTHER SALISBURY MALL CLOSED MEETING

A closed worksession of the Wicomico County Council has been scheduled for this afternoon. The reported purpose is to discuss the parking lot acreage that the County has already (?) agreed to buy for a price that was reached a couple years back – before the real estate market tanked. Whatever that price, it is surely much too high today, and the owner has not yet had the property subdivided according to reports.

Let’s hope that the Council decides to demand that the price be reduced or that the deal be dropped. That would be a fitting way to kick off the County’s budget cutting bash.

For sure the price needs to be renegotiated. But I bet it won't happen because it is being bought by "funds from the state" just like the Westside Park. By the way, the rest that farm didn't even get a bid at $5000/acre and the county paid $10,000 / acre for it last spring. Wrong, wrong, wrong. No wonder we are in the shape we are in.

5,000,0000 for it was suggesated back then.Another Mackes lining the pockets. 1.000.000 an acre.WOW. Just think how many county roads could be taken care of for those bucks.

If the county council pays what the two developers want, the entire council should be eliminated.

Hiway robbery is what those rascals want. My uncle could build a heck of parking garage for a fraction of what they want for that stupid lot.
