Troopers Arrest Suspect in Theft of Motor Vehicle


On November 16, 2009 at 0600 hours Troopers from the Salisbury Barrack of the Maryland State Police responded to a residence on Cardinal Drive in Salisbury in reference to a theft of a motor vehicle. Troopers report that on November 15, 2009 the victim invited an acquaintance to stay at her residence for the night and upon waking up the next morning she noticed her acquaintance was missing along with several personal items from her residence. Troopers were able to track the vehicle to Pocomoke where it was later recovered from the back yard of a residence. Troopers also located the suspect, Jonathan Lee Johnson, 27, of Pocomoke, walking in the area. Johnson was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Salisbury Barrack. Johnson was charged with motor vehicle theft and transported to WCDC where he was released to a District Court Commissioner.
