THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS STATEMENT EVER MADE BY A PUBLIC OFFICIAL LET ALONE BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. AND THIS GUY IS OUR "COMMANDER IN CHIEF". HE IS A DISGRACE.
HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO LET THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.
Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.
"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody Made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued. "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

The patriotic thing for this president to do would be for him to step down IMMEDIATELY! What a slap in the face to those who daily sacrifice their lives for our freedom...

Just clarifies the contempt that big O has for the great people that sacrifice to serve in the military. If it is so patriotic to give the government money, maybe he should hit up Soros and all the Hollywood elitists. Let's then publicize just how much they give or don't give. To ask for money from the men and women that serve who may be below the poverty line while paying off the deadbeats in all the left wing fringe groups and call it a stimulus shows what a bum was elected.

As the wife of a retired military man who gave 22 years of service to his country, I am outraged by Obama's statements! Who does he think he is? Obviously, it's all about him. He doesn't love our country...he doesn't even care about the people who voted him into office. He is definitely not qualified for the position he is in. Yes, our military is all volunteer......people who love their country enough to serve and provide freedom for the rest of us.
I would have to say that I disagree with this Military being a volunteer thing. You are paid a wage for your service no other Volunteer organization I am affiliated with pays me a wage for any of my time nor do they provide me housing or health care. Yes it is a choice to go to the recruiting center and sign your name but you are still paid a wage and that is enough for me to consider it a job and if your hurt on the job then you should be compensated end of story.

Before this idiot was voted in I told my friends that were "Obama fanatics" that something is not right about this man. I think he's something comparable to a sleeper cell.
I was at Walter Reed probably 3 or 4 years ago carrying a friend up there. I was amazed when a soldier recovering from war injuries was presented a bill upon his release.
Man he was going off.
