for the people that knew the truck driver i just want to let you know that he did not pass alone i was there with him holding his hand untill the EMS said he had no pulce. i wish there was something i could of done but there wasn't. but he was not alone. my deepest sympathies to the family
Dear God above bless this truck I drive and help me keep someone alive Be my mortal sight this day on the street where little children play Bless my helper fast asleep when the night is long and keep my cargo safe and sound through the hours big and round make my judgment sound as steel and be my hands upon the wheel Bless the traveler going past and teach them not to go so fast Give me strength for every trip so I may care for what they ship And make me mindful every mile that life is just a little while....Amen.
My husband is a truck driver and I have to say to all of those with the smart butt comments, you have no clue how respectful and hard working these men are. There are few others on the road with the experience and skill these men and women possess. Many accidents are avoided by the truck driver when the civilian driver decides to put on make up or answer the cell phone, so don't judge all by a select few. If it weren't for truck drivers you would not live the life you currently are.
Rest in peace sir and to his family, may God be with you during these difficult times.
I gave up my driving job to be a supervisor and I can only say it takes a special breed. A good friend of mine has known and worked with Tommy for almost 10 years, and in fact drove that same truck every night. My thoughts are with Tom's family and all Eagle drivers, especially Tom Thompson who shares that truck with Tommy. It makes it hard to go back to work when you see someone die doing what you do every day.
He gave back so much. He took the job even though he was qualified to be a teacher so he could be free to travel with Broadwater academy's volleyball team as an assistant coach.
My dad was the driver of the truck in this fatal accident. We are all beside ourselves at this point and at a loss of words and emotions besides sadness. My mother, sister and I are lost right now. If the blogger on the second comment reads this we would love to talk to you. You are the closest to anything we have right now to closure. If you feel like talking please give us a call. My cell phone is 757-710-4316.
My father was a great man who will be missed by all.
Sara, Your Dad still feels your love and is at peace. Your grieving will take time. Be good to yourself and your family. Your father sounds like a wonderful man. My sympathies to you and yours.

The state and other officials are still there. Any idea of the costs to someone
