China's National Flag To Go Up In White House On Sept 20

The national flag of the People's Republic of China (PRC) will be hoisted at the South Lawn of the White House in Washington on September 20, media reported Sunday.

Chinese associations in the United States had applied to hold a ceremony in front of the US President’s residence to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of PRC.

Chen Ronghua, chairman of Fujian Association of the United States, told reporters that their application was approved not only because of the sound Sino-US relations but also because China is a responsible country.

"Many Americans admire China due to the success of last year’s Beijing Olympics," said Chen.

More than 1,000 people will attend the ceremony and the performances held after it, according to Zhao Luqun, who will direct the performances.

Zhao said the performances will demonstrate the friendship, magnanimous spirit and kindness of modern Chinese people.

Seriously? So we forget about the chinese drywall making Americans sick, and the lead in paint and dye that our toddlers are eating I guess.

Good lord, people. Use your brains for a second. The flag will be on the South Lawn. Have you ever seen news clips of foreign leaders visiting the white house? Have you ever noticed that those leaders' flags are always displayed somewhere? It's called DIPLOMACY.

All of these frothing, half-formed invectives truly make me weep for our country. You are all apparently devoid of any knowledge of history, politics, or common sense. It's sad and pathetic.

WTF! Go to another country and see if they allow an American to fly a US Flag. Wake Up America!!!

At the rate both countries are going (in opposite directions) it won't be long before China is more capitalism friendly than the U.S.

If it were 'diplomacy', wouldn't the flag already have been there? After all, it's been 60 years. And I wonder who "Chen" interviewed when he commented that many of us admire China because of the Olympics. Being host country does not trump human rights, labor laws, and for that matter... ethics.

Wait a minute...I thought Obama was a Muslim extremeist that pals around with terrorists.

Then, I see people carrying signs of Obama when he dressed up as Hitler, who was a fascist.

Now, he's in cohoots with the Communist Chinese?

I'm so confused.

I'm confused too. I thought he a NAZI, but then I hear that he's a puppet of the Jews?

Good Gawd!

President Obama wants Americans to see how the hard work, sacrifices and loyality to the Chinese government has brought China to become a world leader. Americans will be forced to sacrifice in order to survive economically. No more than 1 child per family and only buy the necessities for your daily life. Learn to not be wasteful and improve your family ties and be patriotic to your governmental officials. We can't tolerate criticism when it disrupts the people's faith in the country's leadership.

Look folks . . . why all of the fuss about China?

The way I was psychologically conditioned throughout high school and college. . . the Communist high flyer Country should not even be considered a manufacturing competitor.

That being said. . . then why is a Communist Country beating our heads to the wall at almost all aspects including textiles, manufacturing, high technology, and virtually all other industries.

I say get off the Communist bandwagon and go after your elected Politicos for letting this Country go 'down the tubes'.
