Zac Brown Band-On Sale Today At The Wicomico Youth & Civic Center

Zac Brown Band Brings ‘A Little Bit of Chicken Fried’ to the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center

(Salisbury, MD)
The Breaking Southern Ground Tour featuring the Zac Brown Band has just confirmed a performance at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center on Thursday, October 15. Special guests Nic Cowan, Levi Lowery and Sonia Leigh will join the Zac Brown Band. Tickets to the 7:00pm show go on sale this Friday, September 4 at 10:00am.

Playing upwards of 200 dates a year, more than 3,000 shows in their career and selling more than 30,000 CDs independently, the Zac Brown Band has only begun its ascent. The band's aggressive touring has helped it develop a fanatical grassroots following by winning over believers one person at a time. Driven by awe-inspiring musicianship, skillful songwriting and a dynamic live show that inspires word-of-mouth buzz, the Zac Brown Band is already embraced by audiences who sing along with every word.

The Foundation was released on November 18th, 2008 on Atlantic Records and debuted at #17 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and #3 on the Top Country Albums Chart. The first single “Chicken Fried” peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Chart and maintained that position for two weeks and also debuted as the second most downloaded country single on iTunes.

Zac Brown gigged as a solo artist for several years with jaw-dropping flat-picking skills and an extensive catalog of originals, as well as an encyclopedic knowledge of popular songs. He formed the current incarnation of the Zac Brown Band four years ago. Members of the band include bassist John Hopkins, fiddler Jimmy De Martini and more recent additions of guitarist/organist Coy Bowles and drummer Chris Fryar. In January of 2009 multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Clay Cook joined the band; perhaps best known for his co-writes with Grammy-winner John Mayer, Cook rounds out the ZBB sound on guitar, vocals, organ, mandolin and pedal steel.

Brown’s love for musical diversity is apparent from the first single, “Chicken Fried,” an utterly authentic take on his Georgia-bred existence during which audiences routinely are pressed into service to sing the choruses; “Toes,” which calls Jimmy Buffett to mind in its ode to beach life; and “Free,” which has turned into an audience anthem during recent tour stops.

Tickets are $28.50 plus fees for reserved seats. Tickets can be purchased online at www.WicomicoCivicCenter.org, by phone at 410-548-4911 or in person at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Box Office. The Box Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and is located at 500 Glen Avenue in Salisbury, MD.

This is going to be a great show, but what I want to know is where does my $8.18 service fee I had to pay for each ticket go? It seems like the Civic Center was trying to keep the sound of the price down then bumped up the total price with their service fee. On top of that I had to pay $1.50 "processing Fee". Talk about being nickled and dimed to death.
