Police: ‘Nurse Of The Year’ Wasn’t A Nurse

Woman could face 5 years in jail for reckless endangerment, impersonation

NORWALK, Conn.
- A Connecticut woman who authorities say spent more than $2,000 to stage a dinner honoring her as "Nurse of the Year" has been charged with pretending to be a nurse at a doctor's office.

Prosecutors say Dr. Gerald Weiss believed Betty Lichtenstein, 56, of Norwalk, was a registered nurse, especially after she was named the Connecticut Nursing Association's "Nurse of the Year" in 2008.

According to the arrest warrant, that association does not exist.

The doctor hired her without looking at her background? I don't know how nurses get jobs but I'm sure they have to prove in some way that they got a certificate in some way if they are an RN.

I'm sure there are some nurses out there who read this blog. Bet they can tell how they provided information to prove they are an RN.

Well, I hope Betty was working for a psychiatrist. She needs one. Something's definitely messed up in her head.
