It appears that the developers of the proposed Waller Landing development in Hebron have placed the parcel up for sale. The asking price is reported to be approximately the same amount as is owed against the property.
The project has met with opposition from the start, primarily from those living just outside the Hebron town limits. However, as the project has moved forward, opposition appears to be increasing. This is probably due (in part) to Hebron’s admission that they now wish to include areas across US 50 as part of their “growth area”. There are additional concerns regarding traffic, the cost of new wastewater / water infrastructure, as well as the affect on nearby residents.

Told you that the economy would bury this guy.
Now can we get the damn "Wonder Roast" chicken back???
That project is dead and will soon be buried by Wicomico County and the State of Maryland.
Meanwhile, the "developer" from Wilmington has turned his attention to trying to do a casino in Delmar. The Town of Hebron in being left in the hole for the fees by its special lawyer and consultant.
Folks in Delmar had better beware after what has happened here because it's not a pretty picture.
Happy Harry in Hebron
All that wasted money could have been spent opening a WonderRoast franchise!
What a waste.
And still no WonderRoast...
Told you Delmar wouldnt get no casino.
The fees for the project was paid by the developer, not the town.
And what was the role of the listing agent early on in the Waller debacle? Now that's interesting.
Hey, the developers are bailing out big time and who'll be left holding the bag: Hebron taxpayers, of course. All this mess having been created by Hebron's own 'leaders' who are clueless.
Isn't it sweet that this ad says "no water"--oh, yeah, somebody's really going want to buy that 400 acres--HA~!
The leaders who set this in motion should resign immediately.
Those folks, all of them, put the cart before the horse. Let the lesson be learned that unless you do your homework your project is doomed to fail, or at least seriously struggle.
Shame on the Hebron council members for allowing it to move forward without the support of their constituents.
Guess that puts a wrinkle in Mal-Marts plans to, huh.
At $19.5 Million, that's a real steal deal -- for the seller!
It will sit for decades.
