Brinkley

The jury returned a verdict of Guilty to First Degree Murder, Armed Carjacking, Carjacking, Robbery, Armed Robbery and First Degree Assault this afternoon in the Brianna Brinkley case. This is the second defendant in the Anitra Pirkle murder case. The Court ordered a Pre Sentence Investigation, and sentencing will be held in approximately 60 days.

They are seeking Life Without Parole in this case also. The third defendant, Brittany Barkley, goes to trial in September.

We're seeing justice in this case! It won't bring Ms. Pirkle back but it helps knowing these people aren't getting away with what they did.

I hope they get the max!

Im just curious, how much will it cost tax-payers to keep this fool in jail for life?

9:04...I read once that the yearly amount is between $16,000 - 18,000. If you multiply that by 60 years it would amount to over One MILLION dollars......THAT is the "price" taxpayers pay to have thugs locked up. Before you complain too much I would ask you "how much are YOU willing to spend to help keep our community safe? Puts you into a conundrum doesn't it?

Some will say "hell, a bullet is only 50 cents and its a lot more simpler" but we, as a civilized society won't allow that, will we? What is the answer? I certainly don't know.

What a shame, both for the victim and for those misguided lives which are now ruined.
Having said that, this convicted murderer should never see the light of a free day, and whatever it takes to ensure that is what we need to do. These three gangsters preyed upon someone with whom they didn't even have a beef...just randomly chose her and then, seemingly, whimsically killed her in a horrible and vicious way.
These are the kinds of people our prison system is there for.
Whatever it costs to keep them away from us is money well-spent.

Pre-sentence investigation? Why? These three horrible animals deserve nothing less than life with no parole. In fact, they deserve the death penalty. No, it won't bring Anitra back, but I see no reason why these thugs should ever, EVER be allowed to walk among us again.

9:21, need any help? I'll be glad to assist.

I say we find an uninhabited island (but one that could be), build some basic structures- bath house toilets, and some rudimentary shelters, etc., and move these types of people there for life. Monhly, the military can air drop in food and basic supplies, and let these vile criminals fight it out themselves. The military can provide any "policing" or intervention necessary.

I am a liberal, but I have 0 tolerance for people like this. She does not deserve the right to ever walk free again (there is no way to rehabilitate someone who has no moral compass to even start with), but it aggravates me that it will cost so much money to house her for life. She shouldn't have a right to 3 nutritious mealsd per day- or exercise opportunities, or contact with family, or cable, internet, education, etc. I don't believe tge death penalty applies- she doesn't have to face what she did then- it's an easy out.

She participated in casually snuffing out the life of a beautiful young bwoman who was working hard to get somewhere in life. And to the person who feels sorry for her, give me a break. There are no life circumstances that could give any basis for something like this. She, and the others who did this with her, are sociopaths for sure.

Since they like to kill so much I say put them on the front line and send our much deserving soldiers home. If they make it out alive, then they can continue their sentence but if they don't, then oh well....
