An expensive new “tax” bill will be considered on the floor of the House as early as this Friday, June 26. This bill is known as the “American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009,” H.R. 2454, also known as the Waxman-Markey climate change bill.
Most Americans know this bill as a “cap-and-trade” bill for the purpose of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and global warming by creating a system of pollution permits that energy companies must buy before releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

They were VERY nice... seriously, I think he REALLY wants to hear from us on this.....
So many contacted him on HR 1207 and he listened...
Sent my letter.
I wrote him about HR 875. It took well over a month before I heard anything from him and he didn't really answer any questions I had asked. Just a standard form letter was sent.
Why bother? Just like cash for clunkers (or whatever the ridiculous name was) no one listens and they do what they heck they want to do. We get a polite standard form letter in return that pretty much says up yours! Just like the increase regulations for pool safety, madatory imprisonment for child rapists... no one hears the REAL people.

Elected people "hear" the people. If you don't make your opinion known, you won't count.

exactly, I also called re audit the fed bill, he listened, call him and thank him for co- sponsoring HR 1207, then say by the way, Please vote NO on waxman markey cap and trade.
Bottom line? Can you afford it when your electric bill will double from what it is RIGHT NOW?

I wrote this afternoon and got a response back already.It does make a difference..... His aides can count,hopefully.
Don't bother and let them slip this through without reading it. Then there is Health Care and tonight they are starting up again about immigration. They just jump from one thing to another and make a smoke screen to do their dirty work. I have hope.....But the American people need to keep on top of this.
I don't know why they keep calling it cap and trade. It should be called "Choke and Tax"
What the hell is wrong with stopping polution? The same folks that bitch about leaving huge deficits for their children and grandchildren bitch about cap and trade? What about leaving your children and grandchildren a cleaner planet, air they can breathe, water they can drink? Hipocrates.
10:00 am-We may be hipocrites but at least we can spell and even better, we can read. The cap and trade does nothing for reversing global warming. It went from 936 pages to over 1200 in a less than a week (think trees-400+ congressmen plus their aides, etc). They aren't interested in helping the environment with this legislation, they are trying to control your behavior and more importantly get more of your money.

Come back to the real world-Even Democrats know this is a tax and does nothing to stop or slow the "Global Warming" and does absolutely nothing to help the environment. Presently it is just killing a bunch of trees as they put more and more paper towards it-oh and it's creating a lot of hot air-probably why they believe "Global Warming" is real.
