State Police Seek Tips In Late Night Robbery


Location of Incident: Chestnut Hill Liquors, 744 East Chestnut Hill Road, Newark, Delaware, New Castle County

Date and Time of Occurrence: Friday, April 24, 2009, at approximately 11:21 p.m.

Suspect(s): Black male, 5'5"-5'6", 140-160lbs, 30-35 years old, wearing a black leather jacket, dark shirt, jeans, black shoes, and scarf over face, armed with a ‘long’ gun

Resume: State Troopers responded to Chestnut Hill Liquors on Friday night for an armed robbery.

In this case, a black male suspect entered the store and approached the service counter. This subject was armed with a ‘long’ gun. He demanded cash; however, the clerk was unable to open the register. This clerk then called for a second employee to help open the till.

The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in an unknown direction.

No one was injured in this case.
