Put On Your Thinking Caps For The WY&CC Chess Tournament

(Salisbury, MD) Wicomico County Recreation, Parks, and Tourism presents a Chess tournament to be held at the Wicomico County Youth & Civic Center. On February 21st, put your thinking cap on for a chance to win a trophy and bragging rights. A trophy will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in the three youth divisions and adult division.

Last year, 27 youth and 10 adults participated in the Chess tournament. Our youth winners last year were Skylar Quelland for 11 & under, Troy Salvas for ages 12-14, and Sean Romoser for ages 15-18. Will they step up to the challenge this year? If so, who will be brave enough to challenge them at a chance to be crowned the tournament winner?

If you register by or before February 20th at 5PM, youth prices are $7 and adult prices are $12. Prices at the door the day of the event are $12 for youth and $17 for adults. The tournament will be held in the Danang Room at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center with registration starting at 8:30 AM. Please forward any questions about the Chess tournament to Andy Kitzrow at (410) 548-4900 ext. 109 or e-mail him at akitzrow@wicomicocounty.org

Joe, It's great that people are sending you their event announcements. There is so much to do here. Thanks to the announcement on your site I learned of the stamp and postcard show last weekend. It was free and what fun. I don't play chess, but this looks like fun too. Rock and Roll Revival came and went last year before I was aware that it was that time again. I won't miss it this year. Do you know if tickets are still available for the bingo to benefit Brooke Mulford?
