If they used the regional service centers instead of going all the way out to Wisconsin, they could save the taxpayers a bit of money and wear and tear on the trucks. I know, saving money and SFD doesn't belong in the same sentence. Is it possible the leadership at SFD is sending the trucks and drivers out to Appleton for an all expense, taxpayer paid vacation? After all, there are plenty of casinos in close proximity to Appleton for their entertainment. Everywhere Gordy goes, there must be a party, and it's always at the expense of the taxpayers.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

I've been inside the one in Middletown , Its really nice. They made sure that it was big enough to get any size truck inside

Wisconsin has a great college town or two for the farmen to party ay while the work is going on.

Anon 4:17 the only person I've heard allude to the removal of department heads is Bob Caldwell. I don't know what Jim Ireton's plans are, he hasn't said publicly. It would be a good question to ask at one of the forums.

There are Casinos not far from there. Nice try though.
Don't forget about the strip clubs in and around Appleton. Heard they are first class for all the departments buying Pierce equipment or even just going there to "look" at new equipment and specs for a new piece of equipment.

Oh, Jim Ireton or Bob Caldwell will neither one tolerate this type of leadership. Even though Gordy is not paid by the City, he costs way too much money for the taxpayers in the City of Salisbuy. Change is good. Do not let Comegys get in as Mayor. Getting either Jim Ireton or Bob Caldwell will be the first step in the right direction. Get rid of See prior to his July retirement, and force Gordy out too. Then, Hoppes needs to go. Put someone in the organization that has good leadership ability, and is an advocate for supporting career and volunteers.

Actually there is a TON of party spots in Appleton.

So Why cant we get an explanation on WHY this cannot be done locally? I understand warrantee work...but just to repaint Why not Expert Collison.....They do everything else....and damn good at it too.....KEEP OUR MONEY LOCAL
Why dont you contact singer and ask them if they are able to do the work that the SFD wants? Or does it need to be done at the factory? I would think that you should get an honest answer since companies like would be looking for work this day and age.
Finding the answer may say wether the work in Wisconsin is justified or not.
Call the shop in Hebron and see if they can install lights in the compartments and then send it to a local paint shop
