A Message I Received About Last Night's City Council Meeting

A boat fire is a boat fire; the boat is insured and gone in the first minute. If the fire spreads to the fuel station, a fire truck with foam is needed. Even if the fire boat is so equipped, I have this vision in my head of a bunch of firemen at night driving to the boat in a fire truck, getting out and trying to get the fireboat started (“who brought the keys?”) and untied from the dock while the boat fire (which could have been put out by the truck) rages in the back ground!!!!

I think ALL of you did an excellent job of calling Gary and Barrie out not only on the spending issues, but the veil of secrecy used to pack the pork projects. I think the one issue that came out as the biggest surprise to everyone was the refurbishing of the water tube, as it was clearly NOT outlined in the PowerPoint Presentation!

It was fun, also, to watch Barrie, after seeing the first vote go against her wishes then losing her smoke and mirrors speech scuttle off in a huff to the crying room! HHHOOOOOOOOTTTT! What a petulant old hag!

Thanks to all speakers for showing up and doing such a fine job for the citizens of Salisbury.

It was true theater of the absurd last night as Louise Smith allowed Barrie to take over the chair and engage in disingenuous debate with the only diligent members of the City Council (Campbell and Cohen). Smith should have shut Barrie down from the get-go. In the public comment part a speaker revealed Barrie for what she is.

Guess what: if Comegys becomes "R necks mare" it's 4 more years of the same old same old. So in the primary, your have two votes and should use them for Bob Caldwell and Jim Ireton, and . . .

LET'S BUMP BUBBA

Boats burn while at the dock; electric heater are the main cause.

Boats explode while underway. fuel leaks (fumes) are ignited by the ignition system or alternator/ starter.

A fire boat is pointless in this area. Rescue boats, like the ones that station 12 and others in Somerset County have are of great value for life saving annd cost ALOT less.

For God sake Joe, you take what appears to be a victory for the citizens and make it Obnoxious. 3rd paragraph unnecessary.

Actually, the 3rd paragraph is right on. That's exactly how I saw it as well.

Third paragraph needs pictures to make it more of a hoot!

They were discussing the marina funding and low and behold some asked John Pick about contingent funds available. He said they funds to pay the marina bills.I think he maybe cooked his goose there.

10:33 I agree with you

Joe didn't write it.

How much money would the city save by keeping the fire boat on a trailer and not renting a marina slip?

They could tow the boat behind the fire truck and just dip a hose in the water to make it work. It would reach all needed coverage from there, and save wear and tear on the hull!

Let me see now , a fire boat
$800,000 , maybe 3 firemen trained
to operate , another $200,000 , maintenance on this monster around
$75,000 a year. REAL good idea!
NOT!

Wish I'd been there to see the "3rd paragraph" in person. There are times where that woman cracks me up. A real mayor wouldn't of gone off to cry. A real council president would of put her in her place. There were only two women there last night who acted professional..Campbell & Cohen!!
