Think There's No More Oil Left?????

GOOGLE it or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April ('08) that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since '95) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota ; western South Dakota ; and extreme eastern Montana .... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.

'When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.' says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst.

'This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years.' reports, The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' And it stretches from Northern Montana , through North Dakota and into Canada . For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 41 years straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from TWO YEARS AGO!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World! Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction.

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth.

Here a re the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
- 18-times as much oil as Iraq
- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait
- 22-times as much oil as Iran
- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become independent of foreign oil!

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.

The government already knows this. Why do you think we are buying up everyone else’s oil before we tap into our own?
Once the Saudi's dry out the US takes the strangle hold on oil.

Contingency planning.

Obama has already by executive order put a stop on off shore drilling for oil and natural gas and I would be willing to bet that he and his liberal tree hugging friends will put a stop to getting at this oil. Remember Obama stated during the campaign that he favored $10.00 a gallon gas.Obama at his core is a socialist and a capitalist adventure that would put tax paying americans to work in the private sector is totally against his beliefs.

Are we drillin'yet?
NO. (why it takes 10 yrs. to get OUR oil online.
bho will stifle any & all efforts to drill, and he already has.

Tell me this. All of these Barrels have volume. What happens to the earth surrounding the area that contains this crude? I would think that the earth would have to collapse in to fill the void left by the removed oil. Right? I'm no tree hugger and I think we should probably begin drilling right away to hold us over until we get this renewable energy thing in motion and gaining ground. I understand that carbon is released by the burning of fossil fuels which eventually falls back to earth but it would never be concentrated to the area from which it was removed. It would seem that this many barrels would take up a significant amount of space. Can someone answer this?

Can't drill. There's probably a mouse or an owl or something that we can't live without that is living there. We will move a family out of their house because we need a new casino or apartment complex. (Remember FL?) but won't become energy independent , therefore not be owned by the Saudi's, because of an owl or something. It's really a shame. Don't get me wrong, I love all animals but I love my family and Countries independence more.

9:21, we pull billions of gallons of water out of the ground everyday, but do you see any sink holes around water wells?

Theres only about 3 billion barrels recoverable there. thats a lot, but considering that we import 10 million barrels A DAY this would only last us about a year. Lets go get it, but lets not count on it to solve our problems.

I believe it's mostly shale oil.... the kind they dig out of the ground up in Canada. It's expensive to mine, and the energy yield is quite low. It takes nearly a gallon of fuel to get a gallon of fuel.

Sure it's there, but it's certainly no windfall, and it IS an environmental disaster when getting it out...

Back in the 70's, many oil drilling fields were shut down in Texas because we didn't need the oil.
It was said back then that if oil hit $40.00 a barrel, these fields would be reopened.
Guess what?? They are NOT open!

A group of powerful people have gotten together and figured out a way to get rich off our backs. Those people have NO interest in drilling for additional oil here in our country because THEY would not be the ones getting rich.

This country is so screwed, because of GREED.

earthquakes

a liquid cannot be compressed
any gas can be compressed
remove the liquid, the space fills with air & things shift because they can.

The democrats could care less.

When they remove the oil from the ground they back fill those cavities with water replacing the oil. By doing this the space is replaced by water as well as floating the remaining oil on top of the water making it easier to extract.
